The Company

Vela–Tech was born from both the technical expertise and passion gained, from over 25 years of experience as a sail maker, competitor and sailor of its owner Valerio Trabucco.

Fundamental steps on this road, which began at the Chiavari Yacht Club where he was a pupil and racer on drifts and offshore classes, were the eleven years spent at Doyle Italia as sailmaker and head of the Northern Italy service headquarters and the six years spent as first mate and bosun on important regatta and cruising maxi sailing yachts.

This important experiential background has enabled him to develop a particular attention to customer service, pre and post sales, to which he dedicates great enthusiasm in order to offer the best solution for every onboard necessity.

He regularly participates in regattas at national and international levels for events such as the Maxi Rolex Cup, Loro Piana Cup, Perini Cup and Swan Cup both as a member of the crew and freelance sailmaker.
